Daniel prayed three times a day facing Jerusalem, the evil princes and governors came and observed his prayers to God. They told the King that Daniel was not obeying t5he law. The King was upset with himself and tried to save Daniel until sundown. The Princes and Governors reminded him that the law could not be changed. Daniel was thrown into the den of lions.
